Moles that appear to have changed, become irritated or irregular in shape or colour can be quickly scanned using a dermatoscope that creates an ultrahigh definition image of the mole and surrounding tissue. This is reviewed by dermatologist who can then offer reassurance or advice on whether further monitoring or investigations are needed.
